Setting Up Cloud POS

Cloud POS gets you running in minutes — no server hardware, no installation, no maintenance. We run the server; you access it from any device.

1. Sign Up

Go to portal.moneta-pay.app and create an account:

  1. Enter your email address
  2. Check your inbox for a 6-digit verification code
  3. Enter the code to verify your email
  4. Choose a password

No credit card required. The Free plan is genuinely free — no trial expiry, no hidden charges.

2. Choose a Plan

Pick the Cloud plan that fits your restaurant:

3. Provisioning

After confirming your plan:

  1. Enter your business name (appears on receipts)
  2. Click Create Restaurant
  3. Wait about 30 seconds while your system is provisioned

You'll receive your dashboard URL (like your-business.cloud.moneta-pay.app) and a temporary password by email.

4. First Login

  1. Open your dashboard URL in a browser
  2. Log in with your email and the temporary password
  3. Change your password when prompted
  4. You're now on the System Health page

5. Set Up Your Menu

  1. Go to Catalog > Categories and create categories (Food, Drinks, Starters, etc.)
  2. Go to Catalog > Menu Items and add items with names, prices, and categories
  3. Set the tax category for each item (standard, reduced, zero-rated, or exempt)

Bulk Import

You can import menu items from a CSV or Excel file. Contact support for the template.

6. Add Waiters

Create PIN-based accounts for your staff:

  1. Go to People > Waiters and click Add Waiter
  2. Enter the waiter's name
  3. Repeat for each staff member

7. Set Up Printing

In Cloud POS, the desktop client prints directly to your thermal printer:

  1. Note your printer's IP address (check its configuration printout)
  2. Download and install the POS desktop client from get.moneta-pay.app
  3. In the client, go to Settings > Printer and enter the printer's IP and port (usually 9100)

8. Install the POS Client

Download from get.moneta-pay.app for Windows, macOS, or Linux.

Launch the client and connect to your dashboard URL. Log in with admin credentials or a waiter PIN.

Upgrading Your Plan

  1. Log in to portal.moneta-pay.app
  2. Go to Licenses and select your restaurant
  3. Choose a new plan or add-ons
  4. Complete payment — limits update immediately

Switching to On-Prem Later
