Menu Management

Your menu is the heart of the POS. Items are organized into categories and can have custom codes for quick lookup.

Adding Menu Items

  1. Go to Settings > Menu
  2. Select or create a category (e.g., "Main Dishes", "Drinks", "Desserts")
  3. Click Add Item and enter:
    • Name: The display name (e.g., "Chicken Curry")
    • Code: A short code for quick search (e.g., "CC01")
    • Price: Price in KES
    • Category: Which category this belongs to
  4. Save the item

Modifiers

Modifiers let waiters customize orders without creating separate menu items:

  • Temperature: Hot, Cold, Warm
  • Accompaniments: Rice, Chapati, Ugali
  • Special requests: No salt, Extra spicy, Half portion

Configure modifiers in Settings > Menu > Modifiers.

Tips

  • Use consistent item codes — they speed up order entry significantly
  • Group related items in the same category for faster browsing
  • You can deactivate items temporarily (e.g., out of stock) without deleting them
  • Price changes take effect immediately on all terminals
